It is what you make it! Vet school is way more “tailorable” than I thought it would be, from optional electives every semester to dozens of active clubs and hands-on opportunities in our teaching hospital – everyone does it a little differently and you get to decide how to make the most of your time here!

Take time to periodically step back and look at your progress and recognize how far you’ve come! Getting into vet school can feel like a whirlwind and the time just flies by, so be sure to approach all the newness with an open mind and just celebrate the achievement of getting here!

From designated clinical skills training, open lab time, and hands-on wildlife patient care under expert guidance, I have been building the confidence and skills to become a day-one ready veterinarian when I graduate. Beyond just the didactic learning environment, this program emphasizes interpersonal, professional, and medical skills that I can apply immediately outside the classroom.
