Rolla Chubb Sexauer Rolla Chubb Sexauer of Olympia died August 23, 2018. He was 95 years of age. He was born in Seattle, February 2, 1923 to Orville H and Della M (Larrabee) Sexauer. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Seattle in 1941 and Washington State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in June, 1945. He married Noramay Knight in 1945. They were divorced in 1987. Dr. Sexauer had an illustrious career in administration of animal husbandry and meat inspection, having served in the Army Veterinary Corps from 1951 to 1954, followed by roles of increasing responsibility with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and State Departments of Agriculture of Idaho, Oregon and Washington. In an atypical appointment, he served as Washington State Veterinarian from 1985 until he retired in 1988 after 23 years’ state service. Rolla and his family participated in square dancing, boating, skiing, sailing, hiking and climbing, local theater, ballroom dancing and photography. Dr. Sexauer is survived by sons Ted of Sonoma, California, and John (born Michael) of Olympia, daughter Kay of Olympia, and grandchildren Daniel, Jennifer, Morgan, and Michael. A memorial service will be held at the Elks Hall of Olympia, on October 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to. 1. Concern for Animals.
