DR. ROBERT W. CHASE, DVM born on June 15, 1933 to Russell Ward Chase and Elsie Phillips Chase in Bellingham, Washington passed away peacefully in his home on October 29, 2001. Robert, “Don Roberto” or just “Doc” as many of his friends affectionately called him grew up in Davenport, Washington, a farming community on the eastern side of Washington. After high school and a tour of duty in the Navy during the Korean Conflict he went on to graduate from the School of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University. Upon his graduating he returned to serve his country. His thirty-year career led him through the US Department of Agriculture and ended with him serving as US Diplomat. His wife of forty-nine years, Maria J. Chase, his daughter and her husband, Maria Evelia Chase Moreno and Benjamin Moreno, his sons and their wives, Robert (Bob) and Jennifer Chase, Ray and Alicia Chase, and Frank Chase, his nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren survive Dr. Chase. A memorial mass will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Sugar Land, Texas on October 31, 2001 at 3:30 PM. St. Theresa Catholic Church, 115 Seventh Street, Sugar Land, Texas 77478.
