Kerry Fost, ’85 DVM

November 30, 1955 – January 10, 2025

Kerry Fost, aged 69, passed away on January 10, 2025, in Star, Idaho. Born on November 30, 1955, to Hank and Eileen Stoddard, Kerry spent her early years in Mountain Home, Idaho, graduating from Mountain Home High School in 1974. She furthered her education at Boise State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1980, and achieved her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University in 1985.

Kerry’s lifelong passion for animals shaped her notable career as a veterinarian. She worked at several small animal clinics before dedicating over 20 years to The Cat Doctor, where she focused in feline medicine and served as the Managing Veterinarian until her retirement. Her deep care for animals and her excellence in veterinary practice earned her the respect and affection of both her clients and their pets.

Beyond her professional life, Kerry very much enjoyed her family and friends. She attended the Cathedral of the Rockies – Amity Campus, where she volunteered in the church choir, sharing her love for singing. Her interests were diverse; she enjoyed camping, exploring the mountains, and was an adventurous chef who also loved music, crocheting, and solving crossword puzzles.

Kerry’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Fost; her daughter, Jillian Percuoco and her husband, Matt; grandchildren, Quincey and Everett; and her brother, Roger Stoddard, and his wife, Nancy. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of Kerry’s life will be announced later this spring. In memory of Kerry, contributions to your favorite animal rescue are appreciated, with Simply Cats being one of her favored organizations. Kerry’s legacy of kindness, devotion, and care remains a beacon to all who knew her.
