Kathy Beck, born on March 2, 1951, in Portland, Ore., passed away on November 27, 2024. Her early years were spent in Portland before her family relocated to The Dalles, Ore., in 1957. Kathy graduated with honors from The Dalles High School in 1969. She pursued higher education at Washington State University, where she earned a degree in veterinary medicine in 1978 and obtained her license.
Kathy’s career in veterinary medicine was marked by dedication and excellence. She initially practiced in Ithaca, N.Y., while furthering her education with an advanced degree in veterinary radiology. Her professional journey then took her to Boston, where she continued her practice until 2012, when she returned to Portland. Kathy served the Portland community at various veterinary clinics until her retirement in 2022.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Ivon and Mary; and her brother, Richard. She is survived by her brother, Alan, his wife, Karen, and their children, Michelle and Daniel. Her family and friends remember her as a compassionate and skilled veterinarian, whose love for animals and commitment to her profession touched many lives.
