Eldon E. Engel, 89, beloved husband of Beverly Engel, died peacefully after a long illness at his home in Sun Lakes, AZ, on March 26th, 2013. He was born on a farm in Gordon, Nebraska. He earned his Bachelor and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from WSU. Dr. Engel owned and operated Burien Veterinary Hospital for many years. Eldon was a WWII veteran who fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, sons Marc (Jennifer) and Kurt, and daughter Patricia (Bret), as well as 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Eldon enjoyed writing, painting and gardening. He will long be remembered for his gentleness, compassionate ways, and love of country. A Memorial Service will be held at John Knox Presbyterian Church in Normandy Park on June 15th at 1pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to hospice care.
