Dr. Ferreira was the 2001 recipient of the Washington State University Distinguished Veterinary Alumnus Award for Excellence in Veterinary Practice.
Conrad, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 17th at The Vistas Assisted Living.
Born to Antone and Elsie Ferreira, Connie was born and raised in Ferndale, California and after graduating high school went to Washington State University where he received a degree in veterinary medicine. He began his veterinary career in Redding in 1945. It was then that he met his wife, Dorothy. They were married in September, 1945 and a year later began their family. After 61 years of veterinary practice he retired at the age of 82.
His passion for his work and family did not prevent him from getting involved heavily in the community of Shasta County. Connie was continually active in many organizations; civic, academic, agricultural and philanthropic.
Connie was preceded in death by his parents Antone and Elsie and his sister Laverne.
He is survived by Dorothy, his wife of 67 years and his five children, sons Michael (Harriet), Patrick (Holly) and Kelley and daughters, Connie Marie and Kathy (John) Ewert; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; brother Clayton and many nieces and nephews.
He was cherished and loved by many and will be greatly missed.
A rosary will be said on Tuesday, August 27th at 7:00 in the evening at St. Joseph Church. Services will be held on Wednesday, August 28th at 10:00 at St. Joseph Church, 2040 Gold Street in Redding.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph School, 2460 Gold Street.
