Donald E. Ferguson was born to Mabel and Walter Ferguson December 25, 1919, in Goldendale, Washington. He grew up on Tillamook, Oregon and received his degree in Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University in 1943. After service in the US Navy during WWII, he married Alice Porter in Seattle in 1946. They lived in Walla Walla until 1950 when they moved to Pasco where they established and operated Ferguson Veterinary Hospital until retirement in 1990. Dr. Ferguson is survived by sons Lawrence F. and wife Becky, W. Scott and wife Kulia; foster daughter Judy Winn; daughter-in-law Lee; five grandchildren Alice Renee Barrett, Lucy Michele Hawks, Don Joseph Ferguson, Christopher Lance Ferguson, and Alicia Ferguson; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Alice, in February 2002, and son Terrence. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 15, 2013, 11 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 520 S. Garfield Street, Kennewick. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to a charity of your choice.
