I started the DVM program on the Pullman campus as a member of the class of 2028. From social mixers and &#8220;wet labs&#8221; to regional symposiums, there\u2019s always something happening. These events are a huge deal because they bring the entire student body together, giving us a chance to connect with people in different years who have already been through the classes we\u2019re stressing about. Building those friendships and professional networks now is so important\u2014these are the people who will be our future colleagues, and having that built-in support system is what honestly helps me get through the intense parts of the program.<\/p>\n\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wsu-accordion\">\r\n    <h3 id=\"unique-id-1__65349\" class=\"wsu-accordion__title\">\r\n        <button class=\"wsu-accordion__title-button wsu-accordion--toggle\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"unique-id-1__content\">How is the DVM program preparing you for your future career?<\/button>\r\n    <\/h3>\r\n    <div id=\"unique-id-1__content\" class=\"wsu-accordion__content\" aria-labelledby=\"unique-id-1__65349\">\r\n        <div class=\"wsu-accordion__content-inner\">\r\n            \n\n<p>The program\u2019s communication labs utilize volunteers to simulate real-world client interactions, allowing us to practice navigating emotional or financially sensitive conversations in a safe environment. These sessions are often recorded and reviewed with mentors to help us refine our approach and prepare for the real deal. It has definitely helped me get my jitters out of the way!<\/p>\n\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wsu-accordion\">\r\n    <h3 id=\"unique-id-1__3174\" class=\"wsu-accordion__title\">\r\n        <button class=\"wsu-accordion__title-button wsu-accordion--toggle\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"unique-id-1__content\">What do you wish you knew before vet school?<\/button>\r\n    <\/h3>\r\n    <div id=\"unique-id-1__content\" class=\"wsu-accordion__content\" aria-labelledby=\"unique-id-1__3174\">\r\n        <div class=\"wsu-accordion__content-inner\">\r\n            \n\n<p>Learning to set boundaries and prioritize sleep or hobbies isn&#8217;t &#8220;slacking&#8221;\u2014it&#8217;s preventative medicine for your own career longevity.
