Last updated 03/10/2026. Acceptance statistics are subject to change as they fluctuate based on new acceptances and withdrawals.

Preadmitted students are those who were admitted before the current application cycle, usually through WSU pathway programs or through a deferral from a previous admissions cycle.

Total seats filled includes both the preadmitted students and those admitted through the currently application cycle.

  • up to 55 Washington residents
    • While we aim for approximately 55 Washington residents, the final number may be slightly higher or lower depending on acceptance and enrollment patterns.
  • up to 11 Idaho residents
    • Idaho provides sponsorship for 44 total seats across all four years, generally allocating 11 seats per class. For the Class of 2030, 10 Idaho‑sponsored seats are available to maintain compliance with the 44‑seat cap. Qualified Idaho residents may still be eligibile for non-sponsored (non-resident) admission.
  • up to 60 WICHE and non-residents (including international students)
    • This number may fluctuate depending on acceptance rates of the other resident pools.
    • Applicants in the WICHE pool are those who have certified residency through their state’s WICHE office. Sponsorship decisions are made by the state and are separate from admissions decisions; as a result, WICHE applicants may hold sponsored and/or non‑sponsored (non-resident) offers of admission.
  • at least 10 MT residents
    • A total of 16 seats are available on our Bozeman campus. Of these, 10 seats are allocated to sponsored Montana residents through our cooperative program. Up to 6 additional seats are available, with preference given first to sponsored Montana WICHE applicants, followed by sponsored applicants from other WICHE states, and then non‑resident applicants.

Because of the complexity of our cooperative programs, WSU maintains several separate waitlists. Applicants are grouped based on their residency for all cooperative program seats, and by review group for nonresident seats. Each group has its own tiered waitlist, with up to four tiers depending on the size of the pool, and movement can occur at different rates across these tiers. As a result, WSU may be extending offers from Tier 1 in one group while working in Tier 4 for another. This structure allows us to fill seats across all partnering programs while maintaining fairness in the review process.
