Hi, I’m Jessica!

I’m a DVM student from Washington and completed my undergraduate studies here at WSU. I started the DVM program on the Pullman campus as a member of the class of 2029. This is my first year as an ambassador.

I’d love to talk to you about the everyday life of a vet student attending lectures, labs and gaining hands on experience!

The WSU faculty are great at answering questions! I like to ask professors questions after lectures while the material is fresh in my mind and they are always willing to answer them. WSU faculty are also great at engaging with students during lecture through interactive lecture styles and really care about student learning.

One thing that makes WSU’s vet program unique is its pathway programs that allow early admission into vet school. I am a part of the WSU Honors Pre Admit Program in Veterinary Medicine and through this program I was accepted to the CVM class of 2029 while still completing my undergrad coursework in 2023! I then started vet school after completing my honors thesis and additional requirements for the program in 2025!

Try out different study techniques! It’s okay to study for different classes in different ways. I spent a lot of first semester figuring out how to study for anatomy.
