Ambassador Spotlight: Lauren Cook

Are you considering WSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine? Our student ambassadors are available to provide insight into our Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program.
Having already completed her undergraduate degree at Washington State University Pullman, second-year veterinary student Lauren Cook is well-equipped to speak about the supportive and tight-knit Cougar community — it’s one of the things she loves most about WSU.
“The pride and joy of school spirit is palpable in Pullman, and everyone—from students to faculty—makes you feel welcomed,” she said.
Lauren’s primary interest is in small animal medicine, and she is actively involved in several clubs, including the Veterinary Business Management Association, Feline Club, and Dental Club. Lauren said the many hands-on opportunities available at WSU, particularly the Clinical Simulation Center, where students can refine surgical skills in a safe environment before ever practicing on a live animal.
The program has significantly contributed to her career goals, particularly through her involvement in the VBMA, which has provided insights into managing her own veterinary practice.
Her favorite aspect of the program remains the Clinical Simulation Center, which she believes sets WSU apart by allowing students to start learning essential skills early in their veterinary careers.
