Theriogenology Club
Therio Club serves to broaden the knowledge and skills of its members in the field of theriogenology (reproduction) through informational speakers, networking opportunities, and hands-on wet labs. Therio club includes many different species like small animals, agricultural animals, equine, and wildlife/zoo animals. This club provides many lectures that allow opportunities for students to learn about reproduction in all the different species. These lectures allow us to get that additional information and knowledge beyond the core DVM curriculum. The labs are an invaluable opportunity to get hands on learning experiences with both animals and the tools most commonly used in reproductive settings. All of the labs are led by DVMs or other distinguished professionals within the industry allowing for many different fellowshipping opportunities.
Bovine Palpation Team is one activity that is unique to this club and something that WSU is very proud of. Last year the team won the national competition at the SAVMA convention! As a member of this team, you have the opportunity to palpate cows and heifers in preparation for competing in a national competition against other veterinary schools. There is a knowledge based component to enhance your knowledge in all things bovine reproduction related.
