Hi, I’m Lauren!

I’m a DVM student from Washington and completed my undergraduate studies at here at WSU. I started the DVM program on the Pullman campus as a member of the class of 2027. This is my second year as an ambassador- check out my spotlight feature!

I’d love to talk to you about VBMA, Diagnostic Challenges and life as a student!

Areas of interest

  • Small animal medicine
  • Feline only medicine

Club involvement

  • Veterinary Business Management Association
  • Feline Club
  • Dental Club

Extracurricular activities

  • VBMA Club officer

Getting to participate in the Diagnostic Challenge as a 2nd year is super fun! Most veterinary schools do not offer an opportunity like this to their students. This experience allowed students to collaborate in groups and play the role of the practicing DVM. I got to learn so much from this experience and my peers.

My advice for incoming students is to try your best and give yourself grace. This is a big accomplishment to get accepted into veterinary school and a huge change in your life. You might not do great on every exam or might not do well in a certain course, but don’t let that discourage you. There are so many people and resources that are here to support you.

My favorite part of the program is my cohort. I love how supportive my classmates are with one another. We are constantly sharing resources that we make with one another. My class is also very proactive and is not afraid to speak up when something does not seem to be right or working.
