Hi, I’m Sara!

sara.metz@wsu.edu

I’m a DVM student from Washington and completed my undergraduate studies here at Washington State University as part of a pathway program. I started the DVM program on the Pullman campus as a member of the class of 2029. This is my first year as an ambassador.

I’d love to talk to you about the day to day life as a vet student and working in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital!

Areas of interest

  • Mixed animal practice
  • Emergency Medicine

Club involvement

  • Veterinary Business Management Association

Extracurricular activities

  • Employment in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital

My favorite part of the program is how much everyone looks forward to learning veterinary medicine. For a few of us, we have been looking forward to this for years, and all of us are passionate about animals. You really find like-minded people in your classes!

My best advice to incoming students is to be confident in yourselves! Everyone comes from a different background, and knows more information in some categories than others. Just because you are not an expert in everything does not mean you do not deserve to be in the vet program!

I like living in Pullman because of the family I have formed here! It is a small community, but that means it is easier to find some of the closest friends to you!
