Veterinary Science and Research Club

If you’re interested in research or lab-animal medicine, consider joining the Veterinary Science and Research Club! The club offers fascinating lectures from professionals in lab-animal and research fields, along with valuable networking opportunities to help you find your niche in the world of science. You’ll also get hands-on experiences, like rodent handling labs! The Veterinary Science and Research Club bridges the gap between veterinary medicine and research, both introducing students to the field as well as giving experienced students access to the resources they need to continue pursuing research during vet school. The goal of our club is to highlight many of the amazing research that is being done here at WSU and connect students with labs and programs that will help them achieve their goals.

VRSC has connected me with amazing Lab Animal Veterinarians as well as Research Labs here at WSU. From these connections, I was able to apply for and participate in the Summer Research Fellowship, which was a life-changing experience. I think it is important to continue to learn about the different projects being done and how to get involved as a veterinarian. The animal handling and lab skills I have learned by being in the club have given me the knowledge and training I need to better understand research papers, as well as be able to enter a lab knowing I have the understanding and skillset needed to run my own project.
