Hi, I’m Wayne!

yueh-wen.chang@wsu.edu

I’m a DVM student from Taiwan and completed my undergraduate studies at National Chung Hsing University. I started the DVM program on the Pullman campus as a member of the class of 2027. This is my first year as an ambassador!

I’d love to talk to you about the daily life of a vet student!

WSU is a well-developed program which provides many opportunities for hand-on experiences for vet students. The Simulation Center provides diverse surgical situations for students to explore. If students want more real experiences, the VTH has numerous departments for students to shadow, volunteer and work part time positions in to gain experiences with the clinicians. In addition to the VTH opportunities, clubs provide different hand-on classes and labs for students who are interested in the special fields such as necropsies, teeth extractions, and various kinds of experiences.

As a city boy myself (I grew up in a large city with over 1 million people) my best advice for people who come from large cities is to engage heavily with the activities at the CVM. In vet school, there is not as much time as undergrad to hang out with friends; most of your time will be studying. I would suggest joining different clubs, getting involved in different activities, making friends with the classmates and exploring this small town together!

Awesome, knowledgeable, and the most importantly, supportive!
